Who I Am :– Pioneer in Symbolic Analysis and Logic Programming

I am a computer science researcher, software expert, and Ph.D. (FT) with over four decades of deep experience in logic programming and Symbolic AI (GOFAI). My career thrives at the intersection of mathematical logic, language technology, and demanding industrial applications. Throughout my journey, I have have engineered dozens of industrial applications to master complex systems with the Prolog style.


From Turbo Prolog to Modern Visual Prolog

My passion for logic programming ignited in the late 1980s with Borland’s revolutionary Turbo Prolog. This sparked a lifelong journey that placed me at the international core of the field:

  • International Networking (1990–): Starting in 1990, I annually attended the Practical Prolog Applications conferences in London. There, I formed lasting professional bonds with global pioneers like founders of the Prolog Development Center (PDC). In London, I also met the great stars of the history of logic programming: John Alan Robinson, Alain Colmerauer, and Robert Kowalski (link).
  • Visual Prolog & Science: While mainstream paradigms shifted, I chose to continue my scientific research using Visual Prolog. Its strongly typed architecture remains a powerful, modern tool for cutting-edge symbolic modeling (link).

Academic Foundations, Patents, and Innovations

My academic and industrial work is rooted in the symbolic paradigm like Good Old-Fashioned AI (GOFAI), but now modeling the world through systems and axioms and dimensions of knowledge using also modern protocols and typed languages:

  • Doctoral Research: I completed my Ph.D. at the University of Jyväskylä with my dissertation ”Symbolic Analysis and Atomistic Model as a Basis for a Program Comprehension Methodology”. I introduced an atomistic model to transform complex source code into atomistic, understandable semantic flows (link). It means the Program comprehension approach.
  • The TranslatorGenerator Patent: Applying logic programming to practical challenges, I created and patented TranslatorGenerator, an automated compiler generator designed to process grammars and code transformations seamlessly (link).

The Future of Systems Science: GoodReason

As an instrumentalist and systems scientist, I view grammars, logic, symbols and systems and metacognition as tools to organize universal knowledge. My latest work expands these principles into systemic change management, the Systems compehension approach: Systems Literacy (link):

I am the creator of GoodReason, a logic-based methodology for innovation and change management. It is designed to map an open state of consciousness and the underlying Geometry of Thinking. I introduced this framework at the ISSS Conference in Cyprus in June 2026 (https://journals.isss.org/index.php/jisss/article/view/4627/1356).

To carry the grand traditions of systems science into the coming decades, this work is being launched as a universal theory of change management on GitHub under the title: ”GoodReason – Systemic Change Management Metamethodology”.
